Wise counsel

I am amazed at what Moses was doing when he met his Father in law, Moses would sit through and deliberate all the issues his people had and i wondered if he did not see that he would be worn out sooner than later. Thankfully his in law saw this and gave him counsel to get reliable trustworthy people to help him deliberate smaller issues and then the big issues would be brought to him.

It just went to show me that that no matter how wise you are, there are times where another man, probably not as wise as you are will see something you hadn’t seen and it is up to you to allow people more or lesser than yourself to correct you or to stand in pride and marinade your downfall.

  1. Talk of humility! How many of us are prepared to shed off to others or deliberately expunge anything that is a source of pride, prestige, power etc.? God wants humble people like Moses, Gideon etc. Now think of the humblest person who ever walked this earth, Jesus Christ. The Christian Bible says “Though he was God he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead he gave up his divine previleges…..he took the humble position of a slave…humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on the cross.” Humility with a purpose, humility par excellence.
