Thought of the day: 2011-11-22(Discipline)

Its one of those words every has at the back of their minds but never wants to apply. The point at which common sense for doing good is defeated. Discipline, just what is discipline? Discipline is the practice of training people to obey rules or a code of behavior, using punishment to correct disobedience. Well at least the dictionary says it. As i relate to it, it is a practice modeled, which illustrates what our lives should be like but also gives a path that has a process to be taken in transforming a life to the model.

It reminds me of a statement “Mentors inspire, they speak! They help you see the future the way they are seeing it.” Mentors, like the one we all have who is Jesus brings about a new way of looking at things as he models it in his daily walk with is but also gives us a way in which we can also partake of his way and have it rooted in us. Discipleship through salvation as it is called! The funny thing to note is that any path in life, whether it leads to destruction or to life has a pattern of discipleship involved. It just boils down to what is benefiting your life and your destiny and what is burying you six feet under. If you are not real with your life, life is never going to stop being real with you #Russell Mazonde. It is all in the path you see modeled, that which you choose to follow and become a disciple of because in the end, the path you choose chooses the level of discipline you want to instigate in your life!

  1. That is sooo True! That’s what it means to have Discipline. To be a disciple of a mentor means you follow their guidelines of conduct through instruction – “Their form of Discipline”. That’s why people must be careful who they choose as a mentor. You become a disciple of that discipline so that is why people should Follow those that guide you with a path that leads to long life….not one that leads you straight to death.
